How Do I Choose a Garbage Disposal?
There are several important factors to consider when choosing a disposal for your home.
Horsepower
Moen disposals are available in 1/3 HP, 1/2 HP, 3/4 HP and 1 HP. All Moen disposals feature the VORTEXâ„¢ permanent magnet motor to finely grind food, but if you need to dispose of a wide variety of kitchen scraps, select a higher horsepower model.
Cabinet Space
The compact design of our GT Series and GX Pro Series disposals will fit most cabinets. To ensure you have enough space for your disposal, measure the height from the cabinet floor to the bottom of your sink, as well as the width of your cabinets.
Wall Switch or Air Switch
Disposals with a wired connection use a wall switch to turn off and on, whereas air switches use air pressure to activate the disposal through a push button on your countertop.
